The Big Ten just announced that they will be moving the B1G title game to Washington D.C. for Basketball. Commisioner Delaney made it clear the B1G has plans to move East. I thought this statement From Jim Delaney was striking when asked about the subject. "We're trying to live here. We're not visiting," Delany said of New York. "Our goal is to bind the two regions together. We want to be in the two regions and live in the two regions". Does this smell of further expansion? I think that UConn will be a member of the B1G sooner rather than later. It sounds to me like Delaney wants the New England market to be B1G country.

Sounds like a win-win to me. Big Ten gets one of the best basketball programs over the last 25-30 years. UCONN doesn't get left out in the cold if the 5 Major Conferences organize the Championships on their own moving forward.

Cable TV is on the way out bubba.

As such, diluting the talent of the conference to make a few extra million now is shortsighted

From UConn's perspective, i realize they just won the national title, but over time i think the AAC is going to hurt them. UConn realizes they need to eventually make a move to a "name" conference. Also, money makes the world go round, thats one thing the B1G has. I think UConn to the B1G is a legitimate conversaion.

What an abortion. I always respected Delany for slow playing in adding "good fits" like Nebraska, but now it's just a cash grab. This whole expansion mess is going to come crashing down at some point. I don't really know how, but Dan Wetzel has suggested it's when cable providers eventually allow people to go ala carte, and an entire region is not forced to pay Delany's extortion fees.

Anyway, yeah, UCONN is at least better than Rutgers and arguably Maryland overall.

If UConn is going to join the B1G they are going to need to build an on campus stadium.

If they can get to 20, they can have the real Big 10 in one division, and the fake Big 10 in the other.

Its about TV sets! UConn to the B1G would bring a lot of them.

Yes because if UCONN's Basketball teams sucked to high hell the Big Ten would still be looking at bringing them in. Heh, very funny sir.
