Less than two years after a bronze statue of Joe Paterno was ripped from Penn State’s campus, plans are in place to install a new statue of the football coach at a local bar.
A group of Paterno supporters plan to raise $300,000 for a bronze tribute to the coach that will sit outside the Tavern Restaurant, a popular bar for alumni and Penn State fans located just about two miles from the Beaver Stadium location where Paterno’s statue once stood.

All Penn State people are very reasonable when it comes to Joe Paterno.

I think Paterno got a raw deal, but these fans need to give it up and move on. They need to let him rest in peace and stop this.

It's a cult. Sports fans that worship their heros/teams to that level need to learn from the Penn State mistake.

I can name a few other fanbases who actually seem worse than Penn State.

I can honestly say I would throw away my Sharper jersey if I had one.

These people need to move on.

Sick fricks man... literally a culture where love of football has blinded them and allowed their children to be abused repeatedly. Even now, some of these people still dont get it.

they could have a ton of fun with this. Put a jersey on it and a drink in his hand on gamedays.

Consistent with Paterno's legacy the statue will not face the college, but will be Looking the Other Way.
