No homebrew at this one. Should have some good beers, but I have a busy Saturday already and won't be there.

I was talking to one if the chef/owners of this place at Hogs. He said this is something he was trying to do along with getting a better beer line up. I would check it out if I were in BR. Funny how much people bitch about not having these type things and then they bitch when they do.

Would be awesome if they had a bunch of beers that are rare or one offs. Why should i spend $40 to drink a bunch of beers i can buy on the shelf and/or have already tried?

To support the scene. $40 is a drop in the bucket for what mavens spend on beer. Plus it's for a good cause.

Why is more beerfests a bad thing? And WTF is wrong with Zapp's? That is a great beer fest. I wouldn't call it a wannabe.

Now i will say that the breweries show up looks a bit meh, but this is the first one they are doing. Give it some time.

This is all true, and I believe Chafunkta will be there, so that's nice.

Holy crap that's an ugly website... It looks like a website from mid 90s.

Totally agree, in general if a beer festival doesn't have homebrews and there are no one off brews that I can't buy on shelf/tap then I'm not interested.

I think this is supposed to be the BR debut of Chafunkta Kingfish, Santa Fe and Southern Prohibition, as well as the Saint Arnold Berliner Weisse.

And KBS.

Doubtful I'll be able to make it due to other plans however.

Don't worry, folks. Nobody is forcing anybody to go... If you don't think it's worth it, then don't pony up the 40 clams...

Not a thing...Zapps and WYES are the only two I go to..My "wannabe" statement is more of the $40 price and the already pointed out selection.
