Would you be upset if the Saints got OBJ at #27 and Landry at #58?

If these two fell to us, on the understanding that we got them in the first and second round respectively, would you be upset? I think I could live it with it, provided the rest of our draft consisted of some hidden gems in the interior OL, OLB and CB. Your thoughts?

I wouldn't be upset at all...wouldn't be my top choices, but I like both players at those spots

It wouldn't be my preference(especially the Landry pick) but I'd have to imagine some of the guys I'd like would be gone and they really see something in both of them.

I'd rather go LB early and WR late given the depth at each position. But if Cooks or Beckham are there at 27 you definitely look at them.

I would be upset if they didn't also draft Jeremy Hill in the 3rd, and the Ego Ferguson in the 4th, and so on etc........

If they are the best players on the Saints boards there, I would be fine with it. I trust the FO to do what is needed .. if the picks comes up and they say "hey, the only guy left in bubble 2 is OBJ" .. take him.

Wouldnt be upset but no shot we take WR's in both 1st and 2nd. We would most likely take defensive BPA

At both spots? yes. But it depends on who we would take instead.

But I dont want to spend our 1st 2 picks on the same position. Especially when WR is the deepest position of the draft this year.

Loomis isn't stupid, ergo he won't do something stupid (I.e. Take 2 players at same position 1st two picks).

Matt Millen, sure. The Mick? Nah.

Absolutely. That means we blew our top 2 draft choices on WRs in a very deep WR class. Which also means we bypassed legitimate players that will help us cut some defensive players that will need to be cut next season for cap reasons.

By adding 2 LSU players to the mix, you have stirred the pot of a deadly poison potion with many on here and have violated the their most scared greed: Don't draft LSU players.

I like obj, his return skills and ability to be a play maker are major need. I loved Landry in college, but he had very, very little separation, and is undersized and slow. I think pro Db's could make his prop career difficult.

Took out the walls of text and added lists.

Looking at who we could lose on offense vs. defense the next two years, I'd say we need to keep focusing on defense while adding complimentary offensive pieces(with maybe one or two studs over the next two years unless we find some gems).

Edit:
This may be easier to digest than that shite I threw up there.

Offense Cut Candidates
Evans(unlikely)
Colston
Grubbs
Thomas

Offense 2015 UFAs
Ingram
McCown
Morgan

Offense 2015 RFAs and ERFAs
Harris
Cadet
Givens
Kelemete(erfa)
Jones(erfa)

Offense 2016 UFAs
Watson
Toon
Harris(potentially)
Cadet(potentially)
Givens(potentially)

Offense 2016 RFAs and ERFAs
Hill
Robinson
Lelito
Kelemete(potentially)
Jones(potentially)
Nsekhe(erfa)
Hawkins(erfa)
Johnson(erfa)
Tanner(erfa)

Defense Cut Candidates
Lofton
Bunkley
Hawthorne

Defense 2015 UFAs
Robinson
Butler
Haralson
Dawson
Humber

Defense 2015 RFAs and ERFAs
Wade
Walker
Galette(potentially and not like a regular RFA)
Davis(erfa)

Defense 2016 UFAs
Jordan
Galette
Hicks
Bailey
Bush
White
Wade(potentially)
Walker(potentially)

Defense 2016 RFAs and ERFAs
Sweeting
Foster
Reddick
Davis(potentially)
Johnson(erfa)
Frederick(erfa)
Knox(erfa)
Brooks(erfa)

Only offensive players I'd really hate to see leave are under the cut candidates and Robinson, but he isn't and UFA until 2017. Maybe add in Morgan and Ingram if they ball out this year.

On defense we could lose our whole line(except Foster) and linebacking corp in the next 2 years, plus everyone in our secondary outside of Lewis, Vaccaro, and Byrd(and Ball but we haven't seen him play).

Yep. Back to WR in 1 and 2. 1 is enough.

I remember Drew Brees getting sacked constantly last season. With him being 35, it's time to beef up the offensive line and go with a WR late in the draft.

Evans got healthy and we ditched Brown for Armstead. I'd like to upgrade over Grubbs and find a legit center, but I think that could be found later just as easily as WR.
