Is it a good card to have? I have only had Amex, Visa and Mastercards so far. But the benefits of the Discover It card seem pretty good.

I have it. Enjoy the 5% back on different categories each quarter. Also really like that they have your credit score on each statement. Solid card if you ask me.

It's a good one to have. Similar to the Chase Freedom with rotating 5% categories. With both of those cards together, you can usually get %5 back on gas and dining for at least half the year if the categories aren't overlapped.

Their customer service for the card is excellent. You can call 24/7 and someone in Utah picks up.

I think this is on all their cards now, or at least IT and Platinum bc they have been putting my score on my Platinum statement recently.

I generally like their card and rarely have a problem with it being accepted although it's good to have a backup. And their customer service is solid and based in the US.

The only gripe I have (and it's minor) is that for some reason my Quicken downloads sometimes have weird-looking zero-dollar transactions. Every week they tell me that I had charges of $0.00 to merchants named something like "ZMSW4WA3" or "A3GASGE456". It's been going on for years, but it's always zero so it isn't a big deal. It's just annoying to have these transactions cluttering up my register.

That aside, it's solid.

I've been a discover cardholder for almost 10 years and have never once had a problem with them. the shop discover website is a great way to save some extra money, especially during holidays.

As someone who has minimal credit cards, PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa and Discover IT, I like IT because it will extend your warranty by one year on items purchased with the card.

Thanks guys for the input. I went ahead and applied for it and got approved for a $8K credit limit. I will even get $150 cash back if I spend $750 in the first 3 months, which shouldn't be hard.

I have this card and it has some cool perks such as the 5% cash back rewards at certain places and the free FICO score every month. According to the website where I login to look at my account info, you can also get cash back on the card at most supermarkets and WalMart. It's supposedly free of any fees and is just added to the transaction and not treated as a cash advance.
