Every couple of months, the gals and I like to go out for a nice dinner. We like to try something new each time.

Give suggestions on places that are new, but not brand new. I do like to give them time to iron their kinks out.

So far I've thought of Peche and Tableau.

Don't suggest Kingfish. It was one of my worst dining experiences of 2013.

Peche

Went last month. It isn't old New Orleans...but it is very good at what it does.

Rio Mar, discussed in another thread, sounds like a good option for "different".

I've been to Rio Mar several times, and have enjoyed it. I especially love their happy hour. Apps are $5 and ALL drinks are 1/2 price!

If it's not a relatively new place, chances are, I've been. That's why I was hoping for suggestions of new places.

No one here ever mentions Dominique. I've never been but his previous restaurants were all excellent.

It's at least 10 months old.

Great suggestion. I forgot that was on my list a while back, and I've never been.

I am interested in trying Ivy.

I've been to Canal Street Bistro twice and it was really good...though both times my digestion system had a...let's say "unfavorable" response. Happened to my friend too.

I've heard really mixed things about Dijon.

The $30 per entree Tex-Mex joint that O Brah is always pimping.

My interest is waning on Ivy.

The only thing I hear about the place is the awful value they provide.

Everything is really good but it is REALLY expensive for the small amount of food.

How about:

Bacchanal
Cane & Table
Oxalis
Maurepas

Bacchanal - Been around forever, so I've been a ton of times.

Cane & Table - Went once, and it was way overpriced with just o.k. food.

Oxalis - This is on my list, but I don't feel that it has a big enough menu for a group dinner.

Maurepas - It's been around a while, so I've been several times. I really like it a lot!

I've not been to T&L. I haven't heard much on it either. Has anyone been? How was it?
