Beef Jerky - Who makes the best? Lets discuss

I dont care for any of the mass produced jerkies found on potato chips isles across the globe. I do not like sweet hints in my jerky.
I have found several folks that do it really well, but are typically inconsistent.
Alexanders Market in BR is one of them. Sometimes its the best ive ever eaten, and sometimes both texture and seasoning is off.
Best Stop in Scott has recently changed their recipie I guess. Hence this thread. They used to sell jerky in small ziplock bags.... Very strong, dry seasoning. I really liked it. Picked some up today, and on the ingred list I find Soy & Italian Dressing. Now vaccuum packed & wet. Boo.
I like homeade jerky too, but lookin for opinions on who makes one i can try.... Or maybe add to go-to's when wanting some on the road

I like dry seasoning, as well.
I like the Hi Mountain Mesquite and I use the "Beef for Stir Fry" strips from Wally or Winn-Dixie. I also use a bit more seasoning than the instructions call for.
Hi Mountain

I used to buy mine from a guy who would come to the pool hall and sell the stuff he made. I'm on the road a lot but lately I have been making my own also. Working out the kinks but I would say its way better than that mass produced crap you buy in the gas stations.
If anyone has a place on I-10 from Br to Texas, let me know

Not many places around the NOLA area with jerky. Emmets has the best IMO. It's a moist jerky with some fat on it. Clever & Co has an ok jerky, it's the thin dry type.
Keifes down the bayou sells some pretty good stuff in a ziplock back. Keep forgetting to ask who makes it. It's very wet and a bit too salty at times.
Between Houston and Dallas there's a place right of 45 in Centerville that is a beef jerky paradise. They are the self proclaim Jerky capital of the world. There is also a place down I-59 in the Victoria TX area that's the best I've ever had. Can't remember the name but they sell the jerky out of meat cases by the lb and wrap it up in butcher paper. Can't pass that place without spending $100. Buckee's has legit jerky to for the store bought variety.
Climax jerky out of Colorado has some awesome jerky but it's expensive. It can be bought online. Best salmon jerky I've had by far.

Junior's Meat Market between French Settlement and Port Vincent at the corner of hwy 16 and 42, next to Moonlight makes some real good jerky. I bought some from Don's and Junior's at the same time and I liked Junior's better.

Its across 59 from Carol's Guns...not a range, but sell ammo and guns.
Their kolachies there are top notch as well.

+1 on the Bourgeois jerkey...it ain't about the spices, it's about the meat and the smoke.
