Which band will be more appreciated in the future?

Name a band that you think is under-appreciated now, but will be more revered in the future. Which band will your kids/grandkids highly respect?
My choice is The Mars Volta.

STP is having their critical re-appraisal now. They were miscast in the grunge era, as they were more of a glam band. As glam has made a bit of a comeback, STP has seen their rep increase (as grunge has seen it decline).
I think what bands get rehabbed by the next generation says more about the next generation's music. The Kinks are enjoying a big revival, mainly because twee pop is really popular and the Kinks did that pretty awesome (and they could also rock out). During the grunge era, bands like Cheap Trick, T. Rex, and Thin Lizzy got a boost for being foundational bands (as well as already popular artists like Sabbath and Neil Young).
So, really, you're trying to predict what will be popular in 20 years. Who knows? I think "ironic" bands will age poorly. And I'm surprised Sleater-Kinney has not had their reunion show at Central Park yet, especially with Portlandia's popularity.

I'd like to see Britpop get a little more mainstream cred in the US.
To date, its the last bastion of true four-piece guitar and bass pop/rock-n-roll music.

Came in here to say the exact same thing. Wilco will stand the test of time better than 99.4% of music out there.

Black Crows always get my vote in these threads

Not so much the White Stripes but I think Jack White's work will be more appreciated in the future. Not that he is an unknown now or anything, but the test of time will be good to him IMO
