re: Note George H.W. Bush Left For Bill Clinton On His Last Day In Office - lpgreat1
I vote Republican almost exclusively. I dislike almost all of Obama's policy decisions. But he seems like a classy and decent guy, on a human level. Misguided and unrealistic, but well intentioned. ...

re: One day in Seattle - lpgreat1
Flying back from Seattle today from a 3 day work trip. I stayed at the Mayflower Park Hotel on Olive and it was an easy walk down to the market/waterfront area. Ate at a great French restaurant on Monday right near the main entrance to the market and went to the original Starbucks across the street....

RHCP - The Getaway - lpgreat1
Title track to their forthcoming album released on Spotify. So far so good on both tracks. Bit of a different sound for the Peppers but it works....

re: Blood Sugar Sex Magik - lpgreat1
Mothers Milk is one of my favorite albums to just rock out too. It's almost entirely the fun, funky Chili Peppers. Almost seems it was just before they even considered taking themselves or their music seriously. ...

Blood Sugar Sex Magik - lpgreat1
Any flaws in this record?? I find it difficult to find anything to critique. I'm a Chili Peppers fan, but there is plenty that I would criticize about their other records. BSSM is about as close to a masterpiece as there is, IMO....

re: Low carb diet, does it work? - lpgreat1
It certainly can work if you can dedicate yourself to it and have some willpower. Cut out most sugars and starches, and you'll see a difference. Don't go no carb, go low carb. Meat, fruit, veggies, some dairy. If you can do that, you should see a difference. Of course, adding in exercise wi...

re: ACDC featuring Axl Rose - lpgreat1
The guy has a broken foot and the tour dates were scheduled well before the need to hire Axl. Broken foot or no, it made too much sense for ACDC to do it anyway. People who may have sold their tickets off once it was known Brian Johnson was out didn't due to the novelty of Axl fronting the band....

re: SNL: Brie Larson hosts, Alicia Keys musical guest - lpgreat1
Che comes off like he thinks he's above the Update desk and the audience. A lot of his punchlines come off as if he's talking down to the audience in a weird way. Cecily Strong should've stayed on. I also think Beck Bennett would do a good job. He seems like he could do a Kevin Nealon style deliv...

re: Sly and the Family Stone: Greatest American band or no? - lpgreat1
Depends on style of music. Aerosmith, Eagles, Beach Boys, KISS may all be in the discussion, for example, but it's hard to rank them musically due to difference in style. One could certainly rank bands together if you're talking about impact on popular culture or something like that. ...

Good New Comedy Series - lpgreat1
Are there any quality comedy series currently running? Maybe on HBO or Netflix? I've watched Love and Master of None, but didn't care for Kimmy Schmidt. Anything else that's worth spending a rainy day watching?...

Watched SOC finally and was reminded about what an underrated guy The D.O.C. is. No One Can Do It Better is the perfect blend between NWA style gangsta rap and late 80s Run DMC....

We The People... - lpgreat1
The first 3 words of the Constitution Ted Cruz claims to so boldly defend. The GOP is now openly acting against the will of the people. No matter how they try and skew the numbers, the majority of Republican are voting for or considering Trump. I can't help but agree that the establishment ...

What is Cruz's appeal? - lpgreat1
The guy is robotic, unsettling, grating and the very definition of a politician. While he may not vote along the GOP line all the time, he's the personification of what people are supposed to be angry about. Never voted Dem in my life, but would vote for HRC over this guy....

What Happened to NASCAR?? (Spinoff Thread) - lpgreat1
I remember 15 years ago, shortly after Dale Earnhardt died, NASCAR was arguably the second most popular spectator sport behind football in America. It certainly was in the South. It had transitioned from a "redneck" thing to mainstream. Guys like Dale Earnhardt, Jr and others had endorsement deal...

re: House of Cards Season 4 trailer - lpgreat1
Season 1 was one of my favorite seasons of TV of all-time. I think FU ascended to the White House a bit too quickly, and has yet to have to answer for some of the horrible things he did. Zoe was mentioned, what, once in all of Season 3? However, I liked Season 3 more than Season 2. The stuff ...

Is Rubio the only GOP candidate that can win?? - lpgreat1

re: Donald Trump's Fox Debate Boycott and the Ridiculous Response - lpgreat1
Good move for Trump. He doesn't need the debate. He has a pretty secure lead and the debate could only hurt him. This has also shifted the attention away from Trump and onto Fox in an extremely negative way as far as the rest of the media is concerned. Trump must've known Fox would react l...
