If Rob Ryan gets a HC offer, does he even take it?

He seems like one of those "visit New Orleans for a vacation and never leaves" types.

This was the topic in the "how long does Rob Ryan stay here for" and I think the consensus was that his love of winning, the city, and the lack of head coaching headaches he has would be enough to keep him where he is currently.

I don't think he'd enjoy being a head coach.

I think he really enjoys it here.
His personality really jives with the city.

He'll get an offer next off-season probably. You never know - I can admire a guy that knows when to stop, but I think he'd be a hell of a head coach too. Just depends on his ambition.

We had some serious suckage going on. Plenty of room on the bandwagon back then. Made being a fan hard sometimes. Makes the glory days/golden years that much better.

I have a feeling that he sticks around long enough to become our next Head Coach.

Had a vision (couldn't say "dream"). Talking 5 years from now, handshake deal for him to stay and wait in the wings. Because CSP burns out after winning back to back Super Bowls, and won the SB 3 out of 5 during that time span.

I don't want to run the risk of sounding like a desperate fan who doesn't want his successful coach to leave.. but I honestly don't see him taking a HC job.

There are few owners who would honestly have the guts to give it to him at this point, no matter how successful our defense gets. He really wasn't THAT good before he was here (he's had a few good D's but a few bad ones too, not all his fault obviously), plus his name and his appearance, not to mention his car and lifestyle, just don't really fit the job.

I mean, maybe if CSP died or retired..

depends on a lot of things.

who else is available?
who is on the offensive roster?
what OCs are available?
etc

This is the sort of thing everyone says, but I really did want Rob before this season. I love the defensive philosophy of his entire family. Crennel just didn't fit our style or the city at all.

I will also admit I REALLY wanted Spags when I first heard his name dropped...

1 for 2, not so bad I guess considering how it ended up

It was just a rumor (though it was from a legit source, I'm thinking PFT) that said owners don't like Ryan's long hair/Dude-esque sloppiness and would avoid hiring him just for that. Which is insanity.

It's definitely stupid, but considering that all of the owners are billionaires I could see how they would shy away from that type of guy.
