And it wasn't bad at all, pretty tasty for a fast food fish. We used to get these shipped in for Fridays during lent in elementary school and I fricking hated them. The one I had just now was pretty decent. Not a bad option for a quick lenten lunch.

Who is that in your gif and what is it from? I've seen it tons but never could figure out the origin.

I'm partial to the Burger King version of a filet of fish. But I ask them to put a slice of tomato on it.
The filet-o-fish grosses me out with that slice of cheese. Fish and cheese don't go together.

Hate to let the cat out the bag but it's not US seafood much less local seafood. I don't endorse it. Hopefully my boss doesn't see this.

Is it Popeyes that has the commercial that starts, "It's fishing season?"
Wrong.
It's Lent MFer.

My grandmother, of Icelandic birth, loved the filet o fish. The same woman who was a classically trained cook and who grew up with some of the best fish in the world

Now that you have decided to enjoy the finer things of life, I recommend you now consider trying the Sonic Fish sandwich and Tater tot combo. $5.59 I think (gratuity to roller skate equipped delivery person not included).
Like your McDonald's Fish Sammich, a tasty meal time option.
Of course, any meal that includes Tater Tots is a good thing.
Also, now that I'm thinking about it, Long John Silvers has an excellent fish taco. It has been about five years since I had one, but they were very good.

So, you haven't been to Sonic yet?
I thought so.

Agree. I remember the school cafeteria used to have this fish sandwich with the cheese INSIDE the breading, so there was no way to scrape it off.
Whenever I feel the urge to eat a Filet-o-Fish, I order it without the cheese. It's not so bad that way. I actually kind of like McD's tartar sauce.
<--runs away meekly after that admission
