Winchester 1894 38-55 (pics) updated with range session

My BIL asked me to shoot this beauty for him. I would have said no had his dad not reblued it. To his knowledge it was made in either late 1897 or early 1900s. Just going off what I was told. I know nothing about the serials and don't feel like looking it up.

The gunsmith checked the pin and internals and said it's good to go. I'll post the results later.

that SOB probably killed some injuns if its that old. $1100 sure does make is sound very old. congrats

Awsome gun

we had an alcoholic in the family that sold a 38-40 that I had always wanted to keep in the family. It has been 20 years and I am still upset.

You can search the serial # online and determine the date of manufacture. Did the same for my model 1892

They sure don't make em like they used to. This thing is SWEET. These are 25,50,75,& 100 yard groups.

I did some digging and if what I found is accurate it was made in 1895. Serial is 49853.

Pretty amazing to see it perform that well. If he doesn't sell it, I'm gonna smoke a deer or hog with it.
