I went to an old camp the other day to a crawfish boil and noticed a stockpile of this. Old dude said it was great and he ate it all the time. I would not eat it fwiw.

Can pork brains really be that much worse than other parts of a pig that people happily eat?

Probably not. Brains can't be much worse that a shite slung chitterling. The milk gravy part of it really throws up a red flag for me though..

I've had FRESH calf brains but never pig much less canned pig brains in milk gravy 
Kind of like tongue, LOVE beef tongue, had pork tongue for the first time the other day-HORRIBLE!
