Project much? I take no satisfaction in any president failing on the international stage. Do I think electing someone with as thin as a resume as Obama was a huge mistake? Yes. Do I think letting him waltz through primaries and general elections without much of a challenge because he is black was a mistake? Yes. That does nothing for observing that Obama is getting made a fool and by extension everyone who voted for him.

If that hurts your little liberal feeling to freaking bad. Your wagon is attached to an indefensible position, attack me all you want. It is not going to make the guy you support any better. He is failing in a massive way, the good news is our country has an opportunity to reverse the damage he is doing.

Laughable, Putin is boxing himself inside a box that gains him little long term. There is something else to this matter we can't identify yet, but Putin is playing the short game. This is all tactical, not strategic thinking.

do you honestly believe that?

FYI, if you are REacting on the international field, you're already losing.

The WSJ says Putin has paused, and the troops may be called back.

I don't mean to say this is a certainty, but the power of the coin seems to be stronger than both the pen and sword.

The globalization of everyone's economies causes anyone to pause once the sanctions start getting lined up. That is, anyone with an economy worth a damn will pause. A despot will say frick it and roll tread.

I know this has been resolved but Eisenhower's designation was Supreme Commander Allied Expeditionary Force.

Do you realize the Russia can in a matter of days frick all of Europe by shutting down pipelines? They know it, he knows it and in the end they need that gas more than they need almost anything.

Is it a bad move on Putin's part to do it? Yes. Can he literally stop most everything in the EU in days doing it? Yes. He has the EU by one nut there and has the other because they don't have the military to do anything to him.

Sanctions only work when the target gives a damn about his citizens, I don't think Putin does.

Not saying he won't "pause", but he has the upper hand. All this chess play, long term crap the left Obama CSers are spouting is wishful thinking.

Glad to see you got the talking point. It's been on all the comment boards all day, echoing Sally Kohn's whine on CNN last night.

Nice job of dodging the question. He's clearly playing checkers while you're playing chess.

The question has been answered dozens of times on this board FWIW.

Not dodging anything. This was just a tangential issue. It's really amusing to find Obama supporters conflate the US and Obama. He's not Louis XIV.

Obama doesn't give a damn about the Ukraine.

Putin's not going anywhere. He wants a warm water port, and he's got it now.

This is a total fail for the US.

No man crush here, I do not like the man but he is doing exactly what he wants to do and not worrying about the "international" butt hurt that results. Nor is he concerned about anyone doing anything about it because he can read the board and no no one will touch him.

So you respect Hitler for the same attitude?

Hitler was a monster of the highest order, yet he was able to convince legions of people he had a path. His ability to sway people to his twisted view does deserve some respect in the way I respect the devil because he does the same thing. Do not confuse respect with admiration.

Nope, but since Obama skips his I guess we are even on that score. I do have an understanding of people that seems to escape Obama. I mean look at the people he has associated with and has allowed to influence him and the ones he has dealt with - be it Hugo Chavez, Wright, Ayers, Putin - Obama has a problem recognizing good people from bad. Or maybe his definition is off...

You aren't Crimean, are you.
Perhaps you might be able to find Crimea on a map . . . if it was labeled.

One US corporation is worth more than the entire Russian market. Such has been the dynamic, independent of oil, for years. Yet you're talking about Putin?

Interesting.

Why u mad? I haven't read all the back and forth in this thread, but it's a laughable failure on the OP's part and likely a painful reminder of how pathetic and short-sited this board's narratives often are.

It happens to the best of us.
