Don't show up with a nice jacket and nice boots, you'll be ridiculed

Get used to limited phone calls and innerwebz.

Bro worked for Oceaneering and wasn't impressed although the pay was good and the schedule was flexible.

Be safe!

Fingernail clippers
Shampoo and body wash.

Do what you're told.

Don't try to be the Alpha dog.

Don't be afraid to ask a question, especially if it comes to safety. Nobody wants your dumbass to get hurt, or more importantly, hurt someone else.

And by all means, have a sense of humor. It's no fun fricking with the guy who doesn't get upset or have an over reaction, but there's a good chance you will get fricked with even if you're a good sport. Don't take it personally.
"We need spark plugs for this (diesel) generator. Go see the Toolpusher."
"The water level in the moon pool looks low. Get that 3/4" water line running and keep an eye on it."
Et cetera...

Having common sense, mechanical aptitude, and a basic knowledge of how a drilling rig or production platform operates can help you avoid being made a fool of, but it's too late for that now! Enjoy your first hitch and be safe. Good luck!

A lot of food would be a better way of putting it, I wouldn't call it good.
