After Dinner Bars - La Thai edition

So I am going to check out La Thai tonight. The dinner part is chosen.
What I need is some recommendations for a good bar to drink at after.
Most of the bars I can think of in that magazine/uptown area are mostly dives or casual.
I'm looking for a Monkey Hill/Columns vibe. (but not those two since I've been there a lot)
Also you might think that Delachaise could fall into this category (which it does) but please don't suggest it. I've been their twice and the staff were straight assholes both times.
Appreciate any suggestions.

Well keep in mind there are two parades tonight.

Yeah I though about the Freret corridor but I'm cabbing it tonight and wanted to keep it relatively close to the restaurant.
Both of those places are the type of bars I'm looking for though.
I just couldn't think of any along Magazine/Prytania/St. Charles.

Less than a mile from La Thai.

Never been. Looks real cool online.
Do you know what time they close? It's not on their website.

Think like most bars it just depends on the crowd.

Bouligny could work. Maybe that then finish the night at Cure or Publiq House depending who is playing.

Yeah I thought about that too but figured it would be slammed by the time I got there...considering the parades and such.

I know you wanted to recommend kingpin

No, he mentioned something a little nicer. I think St. Joe's has a nicer crowd then the Pin.

Not hard to have a better crowd than the Pin.
What a bunch of degenerates.

Bouligny and Cure are both good options. I personally prefer BT over Cure. Not a huge fan of "mixologist" type places, but both places you can get a good drink and some small plates if you want, and both places bring in hot women.

Don't think they're in a "shithole bar" kinda mood tonight.
