Does your wife "want" to work?

I never hear the end of it from my wife about how I "held her back." I grew up in a traditional household with a stay-at-home mom. Always wanted to provide the same for my family, and being a dentist, I afforded my wife the opportunity to stay at home. When we married 19 years ago, we both had kids around 3 years old, then a few years later had one of our own, who is now 14. Before we had a kid together, I made it clear that I only wanted another kid if she was going to stay home and raise him - I was never a fan of having your kids raised by other people in daycare. It was a mutual decision at the time. However, since then I constantly get shite about how I "wouldn't let her work." WTF? For me, life is about raising a family. I only worked to earn money to provide for my family. She has an associates degree from a community college, so any work she does would generally be clerical. How does one consider filing papers, typing shite, and answering phones for someone else to be more valuable than raising your own children?

You're a dentist and she doesn't even have a bachelors.
It sounds like you married way below your intellectual level, which usually spells bad news for a marriage.

She will get the Porche in the divorse.

Seeing as she would have no career, it't not a bad move.

Generally, yes.
This morning, no.

I think everyone would like to work if they enjoyed their job. Just depends on the situation.

As long as it is "white collar" it doesn't matter.
IMO 2 white collar parents are better than one white collar and one stay at home. Idle minds and all that.
my brother and I were raised this way, as well as many of our friends.
It was very common in the Mandeville/Covington area in the 90's. A lot of now successful adults came from this.

Take the monthly bills, cut them in half and tell her the dates he needs to have her half to you every month. If she falls 60 days behind kick her out of the house.

No. But she makes a lot of cheese so I don't give her an option.

AA degree? You definitely married way below the poverty line. 2 white collar jobs mean everything today.

No it wasn't, you gave her an ultimatum.
My wife works, she loves to work. She's not a stay at home mom. Both my kids have been in daycare since 2 months and they are well adjusted and socially advanced.

It would be the same situation if you "made" her work..
You're either making her work or making her stay at home.
Mine works and doesn't see it this way because she does what she wants to but I have friends in both predicaments.

Do you know what happens to stay at home moms?
Have you even ever seen a pron video?

Her life basically revolves around going to the gym when she wants, getting massages when she wants, shopping when she wants, volunteering at my kid's school where she gets to hang out with her best friend who works in the office there, and traveling a couple times a month. Rough life. And not one ounce of gratitude.

Tell her to get a job and see how she likes it?
