Taking the wife out for her birthday dinner tonight. We are driving from Lake Charles. Any recommendations on a good seafood restaurant in or around the Lafayette area. We were thinking of going to Pat's in Breaux Bridge or Regatta in Lake Arthur. Open to suggestions though.

Jolie, Ruffino's, charley g's, village cafe, Ruth Chris, mangia.
Fezzos if you want to stay close to the interstate.
Any type of food in particular you are looking for?

I'll be in that area tomorrow night myself. Glad someone started the thread.
While we're on the topic any places with a good selection of lighter fare there?

Just looking for great seafood. Good seafood places are few and far between in LC.

For Sunday night, go to the Downtown Don's and get some shrimp gumbo, of course! The fried shrimp are very good there as are the fried crab claws. House dressing is good. They might have crawfish bisque as well.

Always enjoyed the Riverside Inn. Great seafood, and very casual.

For seafood dinners, I agree. If you want fried seafood, go to Abbeville to shucks.

I haven't yet been to Hook and Boil in Broussard, but I hope to go soon. I just saw a picture of their version of oysters Rockefeller and it looks great. Look for them on Facebook.
Riverside Inn is a long time fave of mine.

Is that essentially the same as the one in Metairie?

Hope it's better than the Dons on airline in Baton Rouge. I arguably had one of the worst meals I've ever eaten.

The Downtown Don's in Laffy is infinitely better and different from the others. There may have been a family split of some sort. Not sure, but it's better. I don't order many other dishes there, but it's always packed. You can eat in the nice little bar also.
