biggest beetle spins. I like the ones with the plain jighead and spit tail soft plastics.

1/4 and 3/8 oz jig heads. Soft plastic cocahoes in several colors. Some of the better colors are opening night with chartreuse tail, black with chartreuse, chartreuse with red tail, blue moon. You can buy solid color plastics and dip them in chartreuse garlic juice to make your own special baits.
As far as gold spoons I prefer Wobble Rite in 1/2 oz gold hammered. At certain times of the year you may want to try Mirrodynes and Catch 2000 jerk baits.
If you're going to fish live bait make sure you have floats and Kahle hooks as well as treble hooks, leader and split shots. For Carolina rigs you'll need 3/8 and 1/2 oz egg sinkers, and swivels.

also add circle hooks to the list
a rattle trap or two doesn't hurt
catfish de-hooker or .22 pistol

Check out the Pline swivels. Love em.
Eagle Claw has a cool assortment pack for their different hooks now.
I use the shite out of these clip on weighted corks. Awesome to transition from bottom to top water bite and back again in a pinch.

By the way, I love those little corks....in a lot of situations, they are all you need.

On this note, if i'm fishing a lure that is imitating baitfish then a zoom super fluke, or just a zoom fluke depending on the baitfish size at the time, is my lure of choice.
The way I see it the more lifelike you can present an artificial lure then the higher liklihood of catching fish. The fluke is also weedless.
Where a spoon is going to catch hungry fish or active fish, I like the fluke because it can trigger an instinctive bite whether a fish is hungry or not. When a predator sees wounded prey, they attack. This is the action the fluke portrays. They come in dozens of colors, I usually pair that with whatever the fish are eating at the time. The mainstay however is the one that is a light lavender on top and fades into a pearl/cream color on the bottom. Bass, specks, reds love them and they have the versatility to fish with a jig head or my personal favorite, texas rigged weigtless and fished between the surface and 6" beneath the surface
I've even caught warmouth and crappie on the regular flukes while bass fishing. I'ev caught bass on the super fluke that were barely longer than the fluke itself. It's a great lure

doesnt yeti make a tackle box yet?
Posted on 2/12/14 at 10:44 am to CarRamrod
quote:yeah but you also have to hook the Matrix shad only through the head portion of the bait. I've tried with full body hook but nowhere as successful as the head hook only.

I both love and hate these threads.
Love because I get to read what other people use.
Hate because I will buy all of this shite and further clutter my tacklebox.
