Love the course design and love the 6-6-6 layout, but thats about it.

The range is awful, no flags and the balls are all garbage. The balls are hardly every picked and put into buckets.

The proshop has like 6 year old hats and thats it.

The staff, although nice, are clueless.

Almost every member out there are jerks and would rather chase away public golfers rather than make them feel at home. Why not try to drum up sales and memberships?

And finally I think they have one of the worst ratio of Greens Fee price to Greens Quality aournd.

Am I FAR off on any of these? Slighty off maybe, but I can't be far off. What says the MSB?

Have a good buddy who lives there.... That place has had a cluster frick of ownership over the last few years. They tried to get brec to buy it but brec said no... So, these people thought the right thing to do was have the HOA purchase the course. Now they pay $1500 a year in HOA fees and aren't even guarenteed membership. And charge a ridiculous green fee to drive to Zachary... I just assume drive the extra 10min and play beaver creek. The course is what it is... Nothing great. Hopefully the HOA can bring some life back into this place

I haven't played there in awhile, used to be my favorite course (don't live in LA anymore). Last time I played it I noticed the greens weren't great though.
That is where I shot my first round in the 70's though

I can't comprehend how substandard Baton Rouge area courses get away with charging $60 green fees. Unreal.

I played there Saturday. It is not the best course but I like it. With the copper card last year it was $40 a round so it wasn't bad.

With the ownership change though, they had literally nothing in the pro shop, they couldn't sell any food or alcohol and it was a very shitty experience.

They said they weren't sure if they would renew the copper card for the new year or not, but I would not spend $60 per round there.

I will probably call them in a month or so and see if they got their shite together and if not, I will not be going back.

About a year ago, They had one rake per trap. And those were broken. The last few times I played there the course condition was good. Too close to Beaver Creek and their price doesn't help.

more than likely will not have it together.... its a cluster frick over there, they are having a hard time agreeing about whats going on and how to go about doing it. Pretty sure they just had another revote on some things about 2 wks ago.

The course literally just got bought by the HOA. The previous owner had pretty much mailed it in. The no alcohol is being rectified.

I'd say give it until May to really judge the new ownership (HOA). It can't get any worse than it has been recently.

When CM first opened, there were principals involved who cared. They all got out and it has become what it has become, which was basically the Bluffs redux w/ Jim Tanner.

I pretty much figured that. I mean I liked the course but if they don't work it out soon, I will just play at Beaver more often.

Last year 90% of my play was at Beaver and Fennwood (after rains). I was a member of CM during some of that time. Cancelled obviously.

First time I played there was when they still had the cart GPS system. I thought the course was pretty nice but not overt impressed with it. Last time I played there though it was complete shite, and they still charged he same amount they did when it was decent (which was over priced to begin with). Probably will never go back now, although if they get it together it has potential.

ETA: what are y'alls opinions on the Island? I played there once and really enjoyed it.

Not going to name names, but those guys got a lot of Baker in them. And I agree, they think they own the place.
