I've always thought there should be a statue of him with floppy socks to go with the building. There should be several statues of various folks strategically placed around the building. I'd vote for a Dale Brown statue as well.

I think a better idea is to put a statue of Pistol Pete in front of the New Orleans Arena. A salute to him as the former star of the New Orleans Jazz.

As far as LSU's concerned, he's got the building. Shaq is the only LSU player ever to be NBA and NBA Finals MVP. He's the best NBA player LSU ever produced (look at the results) and he had a hell of a career at LSU. His statue deserves to stand alone, unless someone else comes through the LSU basketball program and has a similar impact.

I'm sorry, Bob Pettit had two NBA MVP awards as well. Still, I'd leave the Shaq statute out there alone for now.
