A friend of mine far far away was planning on spotlighting some rabbits but the land he is on is covered in snow.

Does that affect how the rabbits react? Will they stay hidden in their holes?

Paging our resident rabbit experts.

Don't we have a black guy that does a lot of rabbit hunting?

When you say "that", are you talking about the snow or the spotlight?

When the weather goes to shite rabbits are gonna sit tight. They will not move around a lot. You can probably just walk up on some and grab them by hand.

Rabbits actually move a lot when it snows. We used to go rabbit hunting every time it snowed. But, we tracked them and then flushed them out of the brush.

Also, cottontails don't use holes as much as people think. They'll hide in them if they're being chased. But they don't dig their own holes at all. They'll take refuge in abandoned armadillo holes sometimes but I don't see it happen all that often.

Yep, the reflection of the spotlight off the snow may make it harder to see the eyes

I might go in the morning and jump a few. Hard freeze always been a good time to hunt them. Besides, I have a shite load of them on my place.
