Durant and Love committed last summer to playing in this year's tournament in Spain -- which runs from Aug. 30-Sept. 14 -- with Harden also expected to join them. Davis is considered another young cornerstone within USAB and is widely seen as another lock to be on the 12-man squad bound for Spain after going to the 2012 Olympics as a 12th man before he had even played an NBA game. LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, Bradley Beal, Tyson Chandler, DeMarcus Cousins, Steph Curry and Anthony Davis

Andre Drummond, Kevin Durant, Kenneth Faried, Paul George, Blake Griffin, James Harden and Gordon Hayward

Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Kyle Korver, David Lee and Kawhi Leonard

Damian Lillard, Kevin Love, Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams

They'll cut the rosters down again for the world championships this summer. Fwiw, Gordon, pre inuries, really shined in the 2010 world championships.

Also, picking 3 point guards who won't play (Paul, Rose, and Deron Williams) is probably what kept Jrue off the team. His versatility, defense, and ability to knock down the 3 would've been an asset.

AD needs to take it easy if he makes the squad.. Already gets too banged up as it is.

I don't think any of the previous stalwarts (James, Anthony, Paul, Williams, Howard, Rose, Westbrook, Chandler) play due to injuries, fatigue, free agency.

Here's what I got:

G: Curry
G: George
F: Durant
F: Love
F: Aldridge

Bench:

Harden (6th Man/Wade role)
Lillard
Davis
Griffin
Beal
Thompson
Leonard

Could easily talk me into Iguodala over Beal or Thompson.

Why no Cousins? You don't have a center in your 12?

Woj posted an article earlier today saying Howard was going to play this summer.

I also think if they're gonna go with the 3 and D guy to fill out the roster, they'd go with Iggy over Leonard, due to seniority.

I love Boogie. Been a fan for a long time. But Cousins isnt making it over the bigs I listed. No “center" because they don't need one. Chandler played about 12 mpg in London and it worked fine. They will go small with Durant/George at the 4 a good bit. Love/Aldridge/Davis are plenty.

Mistake if they take him. US power centers dont fair well in Euro game. Even on Redeem Team, peak Howard was outshined by Bosh.

I think they could/should bring both. Leonard has been so so this season, but he brings great flexibility to the roster.

I'd like to see the following:

Aldridge, Anthony, Curry, Davis, Durant, George, Harden, Howard, Irving, James, Love, Paul, but if Westbrook wants to play, then Irving probably gets cut.

Realistically, plenty of those guys won't play in 2014. I wouldn't be surprised if Anthony, James, and Paul all sit out.

So I would expect something like Aldrige, Curry, Davis, Durant, George, Griffin, Harden, Howard (?), Irving, Lillard, Love, and Klay Thompson.

With Pau losing a few steps the past couple years, I think that should still be enough to win it, even with the officiating favors Spain will get.

Certainly.

I wish Carmelo wouldn't make it, but he will.

No Kobe is also a bit surprising, granted he declined an invitation a few days ago.
