How many have you experienced?

Not a bad bucket list.

So - how many have you done?

I went to Cassamento's once and thought it was HORRIBLE.

I'll take Acme, thanks.

People that go to a place once and write it off for the remainder of their days should not be rating restaurants at all, so look for another hobby. How many true reviewers do you think go to a place once and write up an article on an establishment are out there?

Commanders, Acme, Varsity, Dillard House.

Interesting list. "Iconic" leaves room for interpretation. You would be hard pressed to find people who are blown away by a hot dog at the varsity but I guess it is one of those "YOU MUST GO" places for whatever reason.

I agree with what you are getting at, but it is really hard to lay $$ down somewhere after being burned. How many other things in life would you buy again if the first was a waste ?

Not really. Acme's quality/value has really went down hill the last 3 or 4 years. I feel bad for tourist who go stand in line for the FQ location and then overpay for a measly arse RB po-boy or average fried food, etc.

I will give it to you that there oysters are still good in various ways and it is an iconic place.

You are going to spend money to eat regardless of choosing the where to lay down the bucks being considered. He in his remark doesn't say what was so horrible about it, but his remark is definitive anyway. If a restaurant was so horrible in NOLA it wouldn't survive very long.
