I am frying 1/2 of a deer backstrap. Baked sweet potatoes. Stewed apples. Green chile cornbread.

Beers and Wild Turkey 101 for me. Vodka and cranberry for her.

What dressing did you put on that pasta salad you made yesterday? MissDawg needs to know.

I whisked red wine vinegar and a couple tablespoons of sugar.. then added olive oil, various dried herbs, italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

But I did add a little of this too:

It's my favorite salad dressing, and it gave a good garlic flavor to the pasta salad.

I used marinated artichoke hearts (jarred), which gave some flavor too.

Lucy has these choices:

Leftover pasta and ground meat.

Leftover fried cat fish with ketchup (she always uses one half cup of ketchup per piece of fish so we have to have LOTS of ketchup to throw down the drain for no apparent reason.).

Sloppy Joes made fresh today...on whole wheat sammich rounds.

French Bread and butter.

We are having an issue with our new son. He won't eat dog food ...canned or dried. So, I made him some ground meat from the sloppy Joe meal; some fried eggs and the last of the baked chicken. He said they were excellent:

Think I'm just gonna have cereal. Packing up to move so trying to keep the fridge empty.

I have to make something (vegan) tomorrow to bring for my aunt and me to eat at my family's fish fry. Any ideas?
I'm thinking maybe sweet potato black bean burgers... Or a veggie sandwich. Last event I brought Gumbo and the time before that, lasagna.

Got a chili coming together back at the camp. . 2 lb Ground deer burger, 1 lb ground deer sausage, 1 lb of chopped up conecha sausage, two chopped up bigass choice ribeyes, onions, garlic, red pepper, green pepper, chopped mushrooms, 2 tomatoes, tomatoes sauce, tomato paste, can of beef stock, rotel, 2 chili kits, 2 Reese's peanut butter cups, a Hershey bar and 3/4 of a longneck Budwieser. Had I added 10 eggs and some bologna and some Duke's mayo my camp fridges would be all but clear of all perishables.

I was talking about sweet potato grits last night, we have been eating them a bunch lately.

Bake sweet potatoes and mash them into a pot of cooked grits. They are fantastic. Not something to make ahead, but you could make there.
