cooking a brisket Sunday. What does the FBD suggest I serve as side dishes? Prefer to keep it light as I've got older folks dining with me and don't want to make them feel overstuffed. TIA.

Everything mentioned so far is good.
Roasted fresh corn.
Potato Salad.
Baked or oven roasted potatoes.
au gratin Potatoes
Slaw
I can't do brisket and not do pinto beans - just doesn't seem right
Buttered French bread

Roasted potatoes for a starch is a good side. Maybe some green beans for a vegetable. I love those with bbq, myself, and older folks seem to like their green beans or their greens which is another suggestion-some mustards or turnip greens would be good.
Also, I suggest you change your title to something like "Side Suggestions for Brisket" before it gets the anchor for being a 2 word title or vague.

fo sho!! I'm a liquor man myself, but my father will have beer without a doubt.
And, naturally, a couple of Gran Habano Connecticut #1 cigars post meal. He loves a good cigar after a beef dinner. Fuentes if I want to spoil him.
