Request the SEC Network today!

I copied and pasted from TexAgs, but relevant for the the whole conference, so ignore the A&M stuff...
With the announcement of next year's season opener between A&M and South Carolina being broadcast on the SEC Network (SECN), the time has come to truly ramp up the pressure on cable providers to add the SECN to their lineups. The SEC Network officially launches on Aug 21, 2014, and the season opener airs on the 28th. AT&T U-verse and Dish Network are the only major national providers that currently offer the SEC Network as a programming option. If you are a current subscriber to either of these, and are happy with their service, then congratulations. However, even with the recent addition of Dish Network to the fold, only a small percentage of the cable coverage throughout Texas and the rest of the SEC footprint can receive the SECN. Remember, the potential financial benefits of this deal will not be fully realized until there is much broader distribution for the new network.
The biggest targets in the Texas market remain Time Warner, Comcast and Cox, none of which are showing signs of picking up the network yet. To help make this happen, you can fill out SEC-ESPN petition linked below. Better still, you can call and/or provide written feedback to the major cable providers (every day if you have the time) to request the SEC Network as well. You should make this part of your daily routine to insure that the appropriate amount of pressure is applied. It takes less than 10 minutes of your time, on average.
EVERYONE needs to fill out the SEC-ESPN network request petition form here:
SEC-ESPN Network Request Petition:

In addition to this, EVERYONE needs to frequently contact one or more of the major cable providers to submit a direct request for the SEC Network. I have provided general contact information and instructions for each of the major providers below:

2. Scroll down and click the Feedback link.

Call 1-888-777-2454 or 1-800-531-5000 to submit your request directly with one of their representatives.
We all need to put as much pressure as possible on as many cable providers as we can. I have already filled out the SEC-ESPN online petition form at least 50 times. Additionally, I have called, and submitted written requests, to multiple providers on numerous occasions. Once again, if you are already a U-verse or Dish Net subscriber, that's great! But, at a minimum, you still need to fill out the SEC-ESPN request petition, and you should preferably contact one of the major providers directly on a daily basis so that we can maximize the cash that rolls in for A&M and the other member institutions of the SEC.
I will be making a nuisance out of myself in reminding everyone to do this. You will be seeing this message posted, and/or bumped, on a regular basis until it becomes a joke, or until it really angers everyone, or until the SEC Network is distibuted by the major cable providers. Just consider this to be the biggest, most important, poll that we have ever tried to win. Except, let's actually win this one!

I can't believe Cox isn't planning on carrying at this point. Isn't their main client base in SEC country?

All I need to know
AT&T U-verse is soooo much better than Cox

No, not on directv yet, they said a lot needed to be worked out first, and are worried about what sports fans outside of sec country would think about having to pay for the channel (indirectly).

Direct TV better jump on this shite...

Since you have give your name and e-mail address, responding more than once is probably a waste of time.

I'll finally jump ship if they don't get on board. I plan on calling tomorrow.

I refuse to believe that the SEC would've signed a deal that would cut an enormous amount of exposure (and therefore profit)...
I would guess the "big stuff" like A&M vs South Carolina (and pretty much any football game) would be co-broadcast on a sister channel. like an ESPN outlet (ESPN, 2, watchESPN.. etc)
But yeah.. if you want the gymnastic matchups between vandy and kentucky.. then by all means..

Incorrect...in the first year or two expect many good/decent football games like this (which would normally air on espn/espn2) to be on the SECNW...it basically forces the cable providers to add the SECNW to their lineup. Of course if they don't add the channel, then it goes without saying they'll lose a ton of customer. Take for example LSU-Miss St...this is a game that would normally be on espn or espn2. Throw that on the SECnw, and cox is about to have a mass exodus of customers in Louisiana if they don't add the SECnw to their lineup. ESPN has a vested interest in moving some of their normal espn espn2 games over to the SECnw to force the hands of the cable providers. With this setup(espn owning the games and the SECnw), the SECnw has basically zero chance of a big cable company balking to adding it to their lineup.
The SEC network is about to completely change the landscape of college football IMO. The SEC is about to go from the most prestigious and respected football league to by far the richest collegiate sports league in America...and there won't even be a close 2nd. You'll have sec schools pulling in $40+ million per year in TV money with the next best conference not even cracking $30mil per year.

It'll be just like the Longhorn and B1G networks. Part of the premium sports tier (typically ~$10/month for those channels and all the Fox Sports channels)

Cox better get their arse carrying the SEC Network. We somehow get the Longhorn Network, but they aren't planning on having the SEC one that people around here ACTUALLY WANT to watch?

Direct TV better get with it.
