one of my good clients mom passed away yesterday and i wasnt sure what i should send.

are flowers still the most appropriate? if so do you send them to the funeral home or the business of the guy i know?

also whats a good alternative to flowers? hes a guys guy like me and we always go drinking and play golf so not sure how the whole flowers thing would go.

Just send him a nice card with a short, handwritten message.

Make a donation to a charity organization in the deceased name or in their loved one's name.

You should send flowers to the funneral. If you aren't fiends and he is just a client don't do anything else, it may look like you are trying too hard for buisness gain during a very personal time for him.

Flowers, A plant, a personal penned statement on a sympathy card, Call the funeral home and have a caterer deliver food to the house where they are gathering (the funeral home will know). A card stating a donation was given to her church, his church or a charity (Habitat for humanity, homeless shelter, Red cross, whatever) in her name. The charity is usually happy to send the card if you have his address.

Get well soon card

Just leave him alone. Probably doesn't want you up in his business anyway

I've done this, with a nice hand written note. Hand written notes are a lost, artful form of communication today it seems.

I purposefully keep stationary in my office, and try to send one client a week a note. Typically, it's "hey, I read an article that could help your business" - something along those lines.

They seem to really appreciate it.

I'm a cpa btw.

This.

Why would you send flowers to the client's workplace?
