Just send him a nice card with a short, handwritten message.

Flowers or a donation to a charity in the mother's name

Make a donation to a charity organization in the deceased name or in their loved one's name.

Flowers to the funeral home.

You should send flowers to the funneral. If you aren't fiends and he is just a client don't do anything else, it may look like you are trying too hard for buisness gain during a very personal time for him.

Are you a lawyer? Trying to get that succession huh?

Flowers, A plant, a personal penned statement on a sympathy card, Call the funeral home and have a caterer deliver food to the house where they are gathering (the funeral home will know). A card stating a donation was given to her church, his church or a charity (Habitat for humanity, homeless shelter, Red cross, whatever) in her name. The charity is usually happy to send the card if you have his address.

Get well soon card
Just leave him alone. Probably doesn't want you up in his business anyway

I've done this, with a nice hand written note. Hand written notes are a lost, artful form of communication today it seems.
I purposefully keep stationary in my office, and try to send one client a week a note. Typically, it's "hey, I read an article that could help your business" - something along those lines.
They seem to really appreciate it.
I'm a cpa btw.

This.
Why would you send flowers to the client's workplace?
