I've been told they were catching lizards and selling them to pet stores for feed (snakes, etc.)?????

Yup. Green anoles, green tree frogs, leopard frogs. My little brother and I used to do this for fun when we were younger. Got paid 25 cents for the green tree frogs, 50 cents for anoles and $1.00 for the leopard frogs.

Most actually get sent to the Yankee States and people keep them as pets.

Would lizzards and frogs be the same reason that people/trucks are pulled off on the side of I-10 between Slidell and Gulfport around the same time of year? Or are these guys hunting hogs or etc?

Had a terrible time last year, although the water may have been to high. Saw more baby snakes than crawfish.
