Best job opening this cycle? (college or pro)

If i were a coach and i could have had any of these jobs I would have to go with the Detroit Lions. They have the best receiver in the game, some very good talent up front on the defensive line and most importantly a very talented quarterback. It makes no sense to me that they haven't been better, you have to feel like a culture change could have them contending immediately.

I would vote the Texans. Good defensive pieces in place, and most of the offense in place except for QB. But you get the first pick in the draft to get whatever QB you like best.
Oh, and unlike Detroit the ownership isn't a bunch of idiots.

whisenhunt seems like a great match for the lions.

Don't you remember that they are the Lions?

I would take the penn state job over any other.
if you take a nfl job, whatever you do, don't win 11 or more games the first year and then win <7 the next or you will have a 2 year coaching career.

What?
I would say the two best jobs are in Texas. UT and the Texans.

Then you'd have to spend time in Detroit.

...as opposed to the long and storied history the Texans have?
Detroit is the best NFL opening. Texans don't even have a QB with a pulse on their roster.

Lions over texans.
Best wide receiver is aging quick. About to pour money into jj watt to keep him from going anywhere. Very unaggressive front office("no thanks" to Peyton manning).

I'm not naming them as the best, but if I were taking one it would be USC.
Great city to live in, national recruiting ability, very storied program, I think I'd prefer college to pro coaching. There are definitely others that have come open that would be "better", but the job I'd take would definitely be USC.

The surrounding areas of Detroit are very nice places to live. D say The Detroit job as well. If they can get Denard in the 1st and a receiver like Beckham in the 2nd they will be a pretty complete team. The problem will be changing the Schwartz atmosphere and I stilling discipline.

Best opening, though it's not open anymore, is Tampa Bay. Tough division, but they have a really good young nucleus on that team.
They could very well be next year's version of the Chiefs.
