FBD

Got home from NYE raging last night and found this in the lady's apartment, apparently the front office dropped it off inside for us. NICE!

I have some Sculpin for later too! Unfortunately we're having dinner with her parents tonight. I might have to exercise moderation. The struggle.

So many great beers out there compared to just a few years ago.

I'm debating on whether to start with Parade Ground Coffee Porter or Founders Breakfast Stout.

I haven't tried Parade Ground yet.

I had 4 Hands Chocolate Milk Stout yesterday and it was delicious. I've been on a stout kick lately and I'm not mad about it at all.

I would go with fhe PGP first. It would taste very thin right after the Founders.

For starters you would have to travel outside the neighborhood. Need to change your 7 am watering hole from Ms Maes to Ave Pub. Drinks will cost 2 times much too.

Thanks, will do. Bout to add my black eyed peas to the pot. Been braising a ham shank for about an hour, wanted the meat close to fall off tender before I put the beans in, that way I pick the bone out easier later. I've had bad experiences recently with pork necks and red beans, so I'm trying it a different way today.

I pretty mobile (begrudgingly). I like the bartenders at the 'Vous, and it's in walking distance, but I'll make the sacrifice occasionally.

I'll save up for the excursion.

RDV has a decent draft selection. That's a good starting point to dip your toes into the ocean of beer mavenry.

FBD - live from the Outback Bowl...

Tampa Bay Brewing Co. Old Elephant Foot IPA... That's right, real beer for sale in the stadium.

I really like Coffee Bender. I don't know if I've ever had a brown ale with these kind of flavors before. Got one with a BXN before and was excited to order some more. I recommend it.

1 and 2BD for me are Parade Ground Porter. I like it. My first entree into the coffee beer world was the Schlafly Coffee Stout, which got me on the stout kick I mentioned earlier. This is good though.

I actually made my parents go to brunch at the Schlafly Bottleworks last time they were in town so that my dad would try a Coffee Chocolate Golden Ale (the difference between what you look at and what you taste is absurd, and it's delicious) they had, but they were out of it, so we had the coffee stout. He bought a case to take back to Louisiana with him.
