Did anybody think that gays and racist blacks like Jackson and Dyson were going to let this go?

They think they still have a chance to destroy a conservative, Southern white person. If they get really lucky, they probably think they can destroy his whole family.

Its time people woke up to who the real haters are.

You support denying citizens their Constitutional and human rights of due process and marriage.

I'm a conservative, Southern white person, and somehow magically nobody tries to destroy me. Something tells me that it's because I think that our government should do its job and protect the marriage and due process rights of its citizens.

Please enlighten us regarding the rights that they do not have.

While you are crafting your response, consider that choosing not to exercise a right is different than not having a right.

you're not a conservative, ballscaster. Quit lying.

As for marriage, that institution has been defined by society as a union between a man and a woman FOREVER. suddenly, a person can't even express their opposition to same sex marriage without being attacked? Does that seem right to you?

Finally, you can make tlyour bed with the Jesse Jackson and Michael Eric Dyson haters if you like. It's a free country.

Nobody likes being told that their baby is ugly.

Truth hurts.

Hearing and facing truth, for this kid, and other gay and lesbian persons, is something they can't deal with. They feel shame initially (as he admitted) then determine they know better and shove the pain and shame down into a locked room in their psyche. Someone like Robertson comes along and suddenly that locked room gets opened up. Not able to accept shame anymore, Robertson gets blamed for the gay bashing he feels.

Hard to feel sorry for him. He blames everyone but himself.

Gosh, I wonder why that is?

Don't get me wrong. They have those rights because they are humans. The government just doesn't protect those rights in many cases. Here's what I mean:

The Supreme Court has opined no fewer than 14 times that marriage is a basic human right that is protected by the Constitution. When two people consent to make a life commitment to each other for whatever reason, they each have personal rights and interests in that commitment, be it property, children, or whatever else exists within the institution of marriage as well as the personal relationship between the two parties. Being that these two people have rights within an agreement they've made with each other (be it religious, secular, or both), the government's job is, of course, to protect those rights. That's why the government is "in the marriage business" in the first place--to protect marriage rights.

If two people of the same sex consent to a life commitment to each other, be it religious or secular or both, and if they want to call this agreement a marriage--by the way, I know no one on this site who disagrees with a couple's collective personal right to do this--then they are married to each other if they say so. Being that marriages of this nature may include situations of property, children in legal custody, etc, these marriage rights must be protected by our government. That's what government does--protects rights.

Our government does not unequivocally protect these rights, and not only it is a direct violation of due process rights as enumerated in the 14th Amendment, but is a violation of their basic human marriage rights as well.

They have the right to marry each other by virtue of being human and having the ability to consent to a marriage. Our government must protect those rights.

Looks like somebody didn't major in history.

Don't be dramatic. You aren't being attacked. You're being mocked because your view is morally reprehensible and, in your specific case, tragically uninformed.

Does that seem right to you?
Yes. You are supposed to be made fun of for this.

frick them. I am not a racist.

So with your logic, if any number of adults agrees to relationship that they call a marriage then the government must offer legal protection for that relationship?

You're talking about polygamy or polyandry?

Support. The right to enter into a contract with other consenting adults should be protected.

Yeah, I don't have any issue with Polygamy either. If that's what they want to do. Divorce lawyers will love to figure out those settlements..

What if the adults are related? Can multiple brothers and sisters marry, and can they reproduce? Can a man marry his mother and produce children?

Just trying to understand if any boundaries exist here.
