and the comparisons between he & Spurrier, I thought of this question: "Which coach would you have at LSU while they were in their prime, Miles or Spurrier?
And if you chose Spurrier, would you choose him over Saban?

Spurrier. I think he is a better coach than Saban. But Saban is a better recruiter.

Spurrier, mercy is for the weak.

Spurrier is the all time winningest coach at two different SEC schools. He has basically built two programs from meh into top 10 programs

Spurrier is the easy answer

Spurrier. Imagine if he had gotten the job in the eighties when he was interested in coming to LSU. Crazy what could have been.

Spurrier EASILY.
Miles is great, but Spurrier at his peak was top 3 all time IMO.
If Spurrier had Louisiana's talent and Frank Wilson, he'd be killing it as much or more than Miles right now I think.
I love Miles though and do not want him to leave. Our fans are too fricking spoiled to realize how good we have it.

Miles
Spurrier couldn't beat Bowden with his Florida teams. I have no reason to believe Spurrier would beat Saban with an LSU team.

100% Spurrier over Miles in their prime.
Saban over Spurrier though.
Saban over Spurrier though.

Spurrier beat Bowden about as often as Miles beats Saban. and Spurrier won his NC rematch convincingly.

I know this probably doesn't matter, but Miles is 3-0 v. Spurrier, including a road win in our worst year with Miles. Miles handed Spurrier his first loss last year.

We're talking Spurrier in his prime at UF, not in semi-retirement at USC.
