If I remember right, chimichangas are the Wednesday special. We used to go on Wednesdays for that specific reason. That's what I'd recommend.

Service is quick and responsive, but I truly believe it is because fajitas are pre-cooked and sitting on the side keeping warm on the grill.
If the main goal of the restaurant is to turn as many tables as they can in a night, Ninfa's does this wonderfully as it is always busy. However, in my opinion, quality has and is suffering. It used to be my favorite Messican restaurant in town. Now, it is just average and pales in comparison to Mi Padres and falls considerably short to what Houston has to offer with Lupe Tortilla and El Tiempo Cantina.

Ribs and shrimp Diablo were my go-tos at the Lafayette location.

I must be really missing the boat with Lupe Tortilla. Those two restaraunts don't even belong in the same stratosphere, IMO.
I've ate Lupe's 4-5 times, even tried the fajitas, and still consider it very meh. It's amazing to me how much love that place gets. El Tiempo, on the other hand, is

Do you think Ninfas falling off has anything to do with no longer being under the ownership of TJ Moran?
Although Ruth Chris hasn't dropped any. I think.

Maybe has something to do with it. It was so good in the 90's. Last 10 years or so it has gone downhill.

Ruth's going back to parent corporation may have something to do w/ maintaining quality. All "TJ Jr's" places seem to have slipped from previous quality.
