Ask how many of the 18 teams participating
in the championship games are not happy to be there.

The split was voted FOR by about a 2 to 1 margin.

Now everybody that doesn't like it, shut up!

Gonna be a great game between Many and Kinder.
If not for the split one of them would not be
there. And these same 2 teams could be there
again next year.

I'm disappointed my Winnfield Tigers didn't
make it, but Kinder was the better all-around
team and deserved to win.

EVERYBODY SHOULD THANK WINNFIELD PRINCIPAL
DR. JANE GRIFFIN FOR LEADING THE EFFORT TO
LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD. THANK YOU, JANE, FROM
"oldtimefootball" AND GO, GO, GO WINNFIELD TIGERS!

Why were non football playing schools allowed to vote on what happens in the football playoffs?

Ha. Winfield couldn't win it even when they kicked out all the teams they couldn't beat.

I agree that they won't go back to the way it was prior to this year. The only potential change going forward is for private schools to completely break away from the LHSAA and form their own league, which has happened in other states.

I don't play HS football in LA, nor do I have any children playing, so in the end I don't really have any opinion or preference, but it's an interesting back and forth.

I hope Winnfield never makes it to another state championship. That would be karmic.

How was the playing field leveled?

Last I checked, Winnfield still didn't win and John Curtis did.

The be fair when Curtis played Winnfield, Winnfield played their asses tough in the first half. I think it was 10-3 at half, then in the 2nd Half Curtis pulled away. It was the toughest a public school (especially a small one) had played them in a loooong time.

Well duh... none of the teams in the games would say they arent happy to be there... doesnt hide the fact that they had to get rid of teams so they could get there. Like you said, they had to level the playing field so they could get there.

And you dont see the problem with that?

Not taking anything away from the teams that won or are in the finals game, but IMO every state champ has an asterisk next to their name.

And i just saw who the OP was and immediately regret posting in here.
