Doesn't the BCS always work out

Maybe has gotten it wrong once or twice.

It's not that bad of a system tbh

If it has failed once, then that's one too many times.
And it has absolutely failed once.

Still butthurt over 2011?

If Ohio State had taken a bowl ban in 2011, we would have had an Ohio State-Notre Dame championship game last year.

No system is perfect. Like the year the undefeated patriots lost the giants. Playoffs aren't always the answer.

People are going to look back fondly on the BCS once the BIASED crapfest of a committee starts picking the final 4.
Many folks will rue the day they cheered for a playoff. Maybe 8 would work better but 4 is going to leave many people on the outside looking in.

Guess playing the championship game doesn't woke since that was the Super Bowl. So the BCS gets credit when it just so happens only toe teams are undefeated? GTFO

SVP was saying tOSU will have to win something like 36 in a row to get in the playoff next year and will have had only one shot at the title. lulz.

This stupid "playoff" committee is going to be a lot worse.

I agree. I love it like it is.

The BCS was created to try and get rid of some of the human bias, and every time when the results didn't work out the way the humans (media) would have liked they went in and changed some aspect of it to make it more favorable to a certain scenario. I really don't see a playoff solving any of these problems.

Let's look at times it had questionable results:
2000 - Miami had a legit gripe
2001 - Nebraska had no business in the title game and it was gifted to Miami
2003 - Should've been LSU and USC (conference champions)
2004 - Auburn got shafted
2007 - LSU was best team IMO but a crazy year like that needed a playoff
2008 - UT got majorly shafted
2011 - Bama didn't even win it's division, but credit for beating LSU by getting there but they shouldn't have been there.
That's 7 questionable matchups that cheated out teams with legitimate gripes to get into the title game.
In the end, just because a team won the title game doesn't mean other teams didn't get shafted (see 2004 USC winning against an overrated OU team and Auburn not given a shot).

The anguish is going to be very interesting to watch.

How did UT get shafted when they didn't even win their own division (which you noted for Bama in 2011)?

BCS is a pretty good system and I don't see the 4 team playoff solving very much. People bitch about who the top 2 should be, now people will bitch about who the top 4 should be.

FBS college football is the only team sport in the history of the world where you can win every fight and not be champion. Which means there is no real champion only a #1 ranked team.
