lamar louis, ronnie feist, lorenzo phillips, kendall beckwith, duke riley, and deion jones

plus Clifton Garrett, Donnie Alexander, kenny young (maybe)

we will be fine, just need strength, experience and confidence.

Melvin Jones would be good there but I understand the move.

Our linebacker crew will be our strength next year.. Experience is the problem with this defense. We had playmakers but our depth is just not there yet.

How do you figure? No one outside of Kwon has demonstrated the ability to play LB effectively.

I am because I have not seen anything more than some special team performers. We need some play-makers and some thumpers. Can anyone recall a big hit this season? Maybe Ego's hit on a Florida running back.

that was supposed to be the case this yr, and that clearly didn't happen. on the one hand, you look at how well guys like Barrow and Baker did in their first yr as starters without much playing time before. so it's not out of the realm of possibility that say Debo comes in at Will and does well. but then you look at who Baker and Barrow had starting at Mike next to em...

the Mike IMO is the key, and as of right now I'm not too sure what's gonna happen there. maybe Beckwith steps up there, maybe Kwon slides over, maybe Feist comes back. I don't see Welter improving, and unless Garrett is some EE beast, not sure he'll be up to the task just yet.

I am. I just don't see development from Jones, Riley, Louis, etc. The only guy that I like is Alexander. I hope Beckwith works out, it looks as if they want him at end. I wish Melvin Jones would be moved back and given a shot at Mike; he seems like to good of an athlete to waste at FB. We need help.

Out of all the positions we were talking about LB was sure gonna have 3 All American once we signed these guys. What happened. Did their game tape fool us or they weren't coached up? What happened.

not sure what happened, but i think i saw them making tackles in their tape.
i keep seeing KB at LB, i thought it was made clear that he was moving to end.

Looks like Kendell Beckwith is going to play DE. So...

2013: none; Melvin Jones is the only one that had that kind of potential besides Beckwith, and he's at fullback now

2014: Clifton Garrett and either Kenny Young or Dwight Williams. Young is a surer signee than Williams, but I kinda think that the staff likes Williams more.

Linebacking 2-deep for next year, just a too-early guess...

WLB: Lamar Louis, Deion Jones
MLB: D.J. Welter, Kenny Young/Clifton Garrett
SLB: Kwon Alexander, Clifton Garrett/Dwight Williams

Watch out!! If they get too big, they'll become Fullbacks or DEs.
