Swung byTrader Joes a little while ago to check it out. I'd never been to one before. Pretty weird little place. I just picked up a few frozen Chinese meals, pot pies, white cheddar puffs and some of the infamous cookie that so many people are all crazy about.

Did I miss something about this place? I mean, it just seems like a weird little grocery store where you basically have no idea what your getting because it's all their brand stuff. I guess if you shopped there enough you would know what is good and what isn't but it seems like it would take a while to get to that point.

ETA- they did have a little different beer selection that I might hit up in the future...but I passed on it today.

I actually like TJ's. It takes a bit to get used to, but some of their brand stuff is pretty damn good.

I was talking with a gal that I work with the other day and she said the same. But she didn't go I to detail what was good. Outside if the fact that she said "prepared meals"

The ones I tried have not been good. Especially the Boatswain IPA.

I got a few things.. the TJ spicy hummus and whole grain pita chips were really good and a mushroom and mozzarella flatbread with truffle oil that was really good. The honeycrisp apples were bigger and less expensive than whole foods. It's a different kind of place for sure but I thought it was ok.. Nice shopping center.

Their fresh produce selection is better than the Bet-R down the street. They have a wide assortment of unique freezer meals. Also, everyone loves $3 wine.

they have some good beer that only they carry, also some solid hummus selections. I think the people that go for organic foods will get more out of trader joes.

Well I couldn't give 2 shits less about organic and I think that hummus taste like nasty wet cardboard with some spices in it.... So maybe the store just isn't for me. But I wanted to go see what the hype was about and wanted to check with the FDB just to make sure I didn't overlook something.

Had some good looking gals up in there! All if the dudes looked like hipster type nerds. If a fight ever broke out in trader joes I could probably shite stomp the entire stores capacity at the same time. And I'm no badass

I liked it. I don't think it is anything too special, and I don't know that I would go out of my way to go there. But, it is close enough for me to walk to so I can see myself going there for small things I need.

You can take back anything that you didn't like and they will replace it (if you wanted the same thing) or give you your money back.

Or you can bring them your receipt if you don't have the product (or no receipt, not really required I don't think) and say you weren't happy with it. Same thing will occur.

ETA:
Which hummus did you have that tasted like cardboard? Just curious because I'm currently eating the edamame hummus from there and have two or three more varieties in my fridge at the very moment. I have a real addiction to hummus.
