Who misses this guy? Back when he was here our DBacks were disciplined and developed.

Since his departure I've seen a decline in our DBacks, especially in technique. Not jamming WR's on man to man coverage. Giving up easy routes. Poor technique tackling.

Didn't Nebraska fans warn us about Corey Raymond?

Well Cooper left us for a step up job as the DB coach for the Tampa Bay Bucs.. Well now he is the USF DB Coach. Wonder if Miles should be making a phone call.

Red field will be here shortly to talk about how much cooper sucks and how Raymond is the best DB coach in the country

I'm seeing it. The talent is there and yes, you can say its youth; but that has been brought up internally .

Apparently offering scholarships without consulting your DC or Head Coach is frowned upon. They also don't like it when you explicitly lie about going on recruiting visits and making phone calls. Some times, coaches are given a second chance to redeem themselves and they continue to lie.

Cooper also left us with the 2012 db class. I don't give a damn how good you coach them up there isn't a pp7, tyrann, mo, or reid in that group. Period. Our secondary started to decline with Martin and Collins in 2011. They're just not high level SEC players and probably not nfl guys. Just look at the way Martin got smoked by Oj Howard. He had the angle and it didn't even matter. Cooper was better than Raymond but you have to get the players.

Raymond definitely isn't Cooper in terms of coaching but I'll give him another year. He's been bringing his guys in and he has a sick DB class incoming so he has no excuse next year. The younger guys should be developed too.

It's hard just say our secondary sucks when we have one of the worst fronts in getting pressure. Don't care how talented you are you can't cover forever. The problem starts up front before the secondary. If we're getting consistent pressure and they suck then you should be concerned.

You have to get the players, and develop them. You can't live on talent alone.

You mentioned Mo. Claiborne was a 3 star player. Developed into a first round DB.

With the era our program seems to be headed we have to begin to get some of these low star players and develop them. Those are the guys that replace the juniors that leave early mentality. We can't stick some 4-5 star player in and expect them to be a lock down corner from day one.

If good QBs have 5 seconds to wait for a receiver to get open it doesnt matter who your DBs are or who the DB coach is, you cant cover that long.

It is strange how mills and Collins we're good enough to start when they got here and they haven't improved since

If your Corners can take away half the field and can show they can man up and go one on one with a WR then you can stunt and bring pressure with a blitz.

Our DBs can't do that. So we can only send 4 on most plays.

That's not why. It's because we suck when we blitz in case you haven't noticed. The few times LSU blitzes everyone is timid in doing so and just sit in trash. That makes it even worse because you have WRs wide open everywhere. Chavis probably figures what the hell, why send the house when they STILL can't get pressure and they're only playing with 10 people on the field thanks to Welter anyway.

This defense is completely lacking any kind of talent. Just about all the guys who are starting on it that were 3* recruits are playing like it. Even the big recruits are playing sub-par. We just have a defense full of busts and a complete lack of talent. Should be an easy sell to a recruit they can come in and start immediately. This defense is sitting in the worst case scenario where a lot of blue chips didn't pan out and your lower tier guys who were projects didn't pan out either. I foresee a lot of attrition coming.

Chavis is definitely to blame because this is his defense and one he recruited.

Claiborne was WR coming in.

They turned him into db. Probably reinforces the point you made.

I am at a complete loss to explain our short rotations on defense. If we are going to suck, we may as well do it with waves and waves of players and fresh legs.

I can't see how we can sell this disaster to recruits.

Beckwith was an absolute stud in highschool. Ricky Jefferson stud too.

Yet welter, barrow, and loston get all the snaps.
