....primarily drinks. I have dinner reservations made for the week and live music options. Looking for good day bars to hang out (good food is a plus). I'll be in Nashville over the weekend, so a good spot for the LSU game Saturday and the Saints game Sunday. Have car, will travel. Suggestions?

Go poke around on the Garden & Gun website. John T. Edge filed a story on the emergence of Nashville's food and drinking scene a few months ago. Im looking at a trip here as well.

Prince's Fried Chicken is the name oft tossed about. Also, there is a Husk there now. Peg Leg Porker opened a BBQ restaurant not long ago as well, which gets good reviews.

Yeah, I subscribe. I gleaned some good info from that article, but nothing on where to catch a game.

FWIW, I have reservations for Husk, Catbird Seat, Rolf & Daughters and City House.

Go see the Porker for the LSU game. Ask him to sing Karaoke, send out bbq, and keep the whiskey flowing. He'll abide. He will be in New Orleans this weekend.

I like the looks of that place. Thanks for the tip.

Carey (owner aka Peg Leg Porker) is in town I know Friday night for Boudin and Beer, but is probably heading back Saturday. If you go and see a guy with a prosthetic leg, that's him. He rocks.

You're absolutely killing it with those restaurants. I'm going to Husk this weekend as well.

Get drinks at Patterson House, Holland House and Whiskey Kitchen.

Brock has been pretty gung ho about his new fire chicken recipe at Husk Nashville. Report back, please.

12 South Taproom - really good beer and good, good bar food.

Pour House - I haven't eaten there, but they have a nice beer selection and patio/balcony seating.

Tavern - a little more "trendy", but still a good day place to drink and the food is really good there. It gets crowded though. If it gets too crowed, you've got Broadway Brewhouse next door and Hattie B's (good Hot Chicken and local beer) across the street.

I need to check that place out next time I'm through there.

12 South Taproom is always a solid choice. I usually end up there every time I visit.

Have gone over and tried out any of Black Abbey's stuff? I stopped in maybe a month ago and got a sampler. One was good, one was decent, and the other two were meh to pass. They have a huge brewery for their small output. I did see a whole bunch of barrels laying around labelled with their farmhouse, so that's a good sign.
