Anybody here collect them, or have one you use? I have an acquaintance that collects old Colemans. I saw some photos, and got interested. I like things with a sense of nostalgia. Somehow they just seem cooler than a new one with a propane bottle screwed on.

Anyway, seems like kind of a fun little side hobby. Most of them really aren't worth a lot because they were made by the millions. But, I don't think their worth is what makes them cool.

Anyway, he's selling me a '72 model 220E "Big Hat". This one:

A 40+ year old lantern will be sweet for my next car camping trip.

They were red. I own 2 and putting those fricking mantles on is a monumental pain in the arse for me.

Yeah, there are red ones, brown ones, light green ones, and some with brass or nickle tanks.

I had both the stove and lantern too. But after marrying a gal that had the new propane stuff, I realized what a pain that white gas can be.

I love old lanterns. I have a nice collections stored in my attic right now. I'll have to get them down and take some pics. My favorite is one I found in my pawpaw's garage recently. It was a blue lantern. Looked about 50 years old.

probably got at least 20 pre-70's lanterns and 3 stoves at our farm. have a few old kerosene heaters as well. They all hang from the ceiling in our family "shelter house" that my dad and uncles built back in the 60's

Will you bring it to me?

But seriously, I might be interested if you'd go through the trouble of shipping it.

I have two like that sitting in my dad's garage somewhere. I also have two Coleman stoves that fold out from what looks like a suitcase. I had no idea what they were until I took them apart

I've warmed many a can of soup on those back in my early deer hunting days. I'm sure my dad still has one somewhere. I just have a little single-burner backpacking stove that I use these days.

Lot's of cool old things from the deer camp days.
