I've never played either, not even a single multiplayer match, but I'm thinking I may need to pick one up to hold me over for Halo/Destiny/Titanfall.

Is there really any difference between the two? I notice a lot of hate geared towards COD, but with no real reasons on why Battlefield is seen as superior. After watching two quick videos on YouTube, Ghosts seemed more intriguing than BF4, but I wanted to come here to get some opinions.
I'm assuming both have mediocre story lines and gameplay for it, so does one outshine the other in multiplayer?

Looking for real answers, not a flame war.
TIA

Cod if you like fast paced multiplayer.

Battlefield if you like to walk around and be bored the whole match.

walk around

I typically like to drive my tank or get a ride in a chopper to get to my destination. Maybe take a boat or jet ski. Possibly a hummer or ATV.

That's actually one of the reasons I haven't yet gotten into CoD. The multiplayer just seemed a little chaotic for my stoner gameplay ways. Seems like 'turn a corner, shoot someone, turn a corner, get shot in the back. Respawn, repeat.'

But, I haven't really watched much of the gameplay, so that may not be accurate.

I played MW2 and Battlefield 3 both quite a bit. I found that I enjoyed Battlefield 3 a little more because it just feels like there's a little more purpose to what you're doing. Requires a little more teamwork to get certain game modes. COD has it's place, but after awhile it just seemed a little more mindless.

I did find that COD had the better single player campaign though. Battlefields didn't really make any sense. But from what I've read, BF puts little to no effort into their single player. COD actually puts some, but to me that's not really why you buy these games.

If you've never played either, go buy COD2 and COD4 MW and live the college life you missed out on

me and two friends played obliteration last night. teamwork is paramount on BF.

that being said I was all CoD forever. I'll never play CoD again.

BF is that good.

BF also has domination which is close quarters CoD style with BF mechanics.

So is BF a teamwork game?

Cuz I tend to play everything alone. Could be the deciding factor in my decision.

you could go at domi alone. its conquest in small maps.

but seriously. getting four to five friends together, two in the tank and two to three in the heli and raping shite is titty milk. trust me.

If you're a Halo player, I feel like BF (in general) is closer to that feel than CoD.

Not at all. The amount of ways to creatively kill people is never ending.

If you haven't played either play both.
However stick to BF4 if you can only play one.....and coming from me thats saying a lot!

Goddamn we did work last night. We have some all-stars on PC. Six man squads are damn legit.

You need to work together to dominate lobbies in bf.
