Just saw their name for the first time via facebook ad. It says it's been around since 1999, though I've never heard it mentioned even once on here. What's the word on this place?

I've had catered lunch from there about 4 or 5 times and it's been great. Right off Acadian and I-10, convenient location.

It is not bad. Mestiza was their sister restaurant in Prairieville and consistently had the worst service of any restaurant I ever attended.

Never have had any regular tex mex there. The two seafood dishes I tried were terrible. Haven't had any desire to go back.

Very good food, service, adult beverages in a cozy setting.

Wife and I used to live in Southdowns and thoroughly enjoyed Mestizo's until Coyote opened.

Food is fricking awful there.

We were hooked by the $5 dollar skinny margaritas on Wednesdays...one of the best margs I've had plus it will frick you up....and only 180 calories per drink

after about 3 awful meals, we just quit eating there altogether and went there to drink ritas only

eta: spinach salad was the worst salad I've had...fried crawfish was not even edible and it was dry
seafood queso tastes like it comes from a jar

they stole my restaurant concept.

I wanted a place called Jose Boudreaux's and it was going to be Louisiana Mexican food. That is what Mestizo's is.

Enjoyed it there a few times with duck empanadas and margaritas in the bar area. Sounds like I hit the high points.
