Here's the story, deer comes out in front of feeder, I shoot here loud noise where the arrow hit the feeder leg she was standing in front of. I here her run off and thought I heard a crash. I feel good about my shot, get down check my arrow and have hardly any blood on it, but a little brownish blood on the fletchings. Well about 2 feet from the feeder there is blood. We trail blood spots that are between 2 and 5 feet apart for a ways and it starts picking up. I can see it on the sides of trees where it was pumping out. We get to a spot where it looks like she stops, but doesn't lay down. There was a good bit of blood there, but after that spot we lost the trail. I hope we find her. I couldn't sleep a wink last night thinking about it.

Hope you get her. Should have been cold enough to save the meat.
And you should have used a xbow, you would be frying backstrap by now.

Thanks me too. I feel good about my shot and I got a good pass through. Any suggestions on picking the blood trail up after loosing it where she stopped?

Look very slow in the general area but be organized in your search. Imagine the area as a grid. Search each section before moving to the next. Expand your grid out further and further. Remember 35 yards of slow searching will take a while and a deer can cover that ground in 3 or 4 big jumps. She's dead and likely bled more. Just gotta look in the right spots
Oh and good luck

Downhill towards water. Just be patient, I've walked feet from them before and barely noticed them.

Yep, look slowly, she's there, somewhere. If a deer falls down where you can't see any white they are damn near impossible to see, you can literally trip over them before you will see it. Good luck.

Thanks guys about to get out and look. I'll update if/when I find her.

Sounds like a liver shot (dark red/brownish blood), if so she didn't go far. If you have blood like that always smell your arrow for a gut smell. A gut shot deer is going to die, but it can take 10 hours or so. Smart move waiting till morning.
I've had good luck slowly following well worn deer trails when the blood gets spotty.
Good luck, I think you'll find her

Everything said all ready. I'll add to stay patient and persistent. Don't get in a hurry. Sounds like she's dead, so stay at it. Good luck and show us pics when you find her!

Found more blood and trailed it to one of our food plots and lost it in the food plot. I see tons of buzzars circling over this thicket, but not in one specific spot so I'm in the thicket looking for a needle in a hay stack...well it feels like a piece of hay in a needle stack.

Keep looking... You'll find it
