Reward Offered for Information on Dead Black Bear

A citizen alerted authorities on Oct. 8 about a dead black bear laying in the woods a couple of miles south of the Grassy Lake Wildlife Management Area. The bear was collected and sent in for a necropsy
The necropsy revealed the bear was probably dead for about five to six days and that it was shot with a shotgun slug in the head. Agents also collected an arrow by where the bear was found dead and believe the bear may have been shot with the arrow before being shot with the slug.

My dad is from Avoyelles and they have some people out there that don't give a shite about the law, hate outsiders, and don't have shite else to do but break the law and cause trouble for outsiders (stealing shite, tacking roads, etc.). I try to stay away if at all possible.

That story might be plausible but Alx's 4 wheeler hasn't moved from its rusting place in 2years. Plus I haven't pulled my bow out from under the bed yet.

Well, there aren't many places they are at until the corridors are fully connected. If you think you have that many, contact LDWF. This is a big conservation effort and studies are being done, locals see a lot more of what is going on than people doing studies. Maybe they can concentrate their studies and come up with better numbers.

Snakes aren't endangered. And I doubt bears have gotten to the point of hogs as far as a nuisance.

They are definately a nuisance. Come sit under your stand and scare away all of the deer.
