I almost stepped on this little guy Saturday

I was making an afternoon hunt this weekend at my parents house. There is a small creek that runs through their property and he was right near it.
He never rattled at me and my dad had to completely pick him up with a stick to get him to move. He was clearly cold and looking for a den for the winter. He was so calm that I got pretty close and he looked to have 8-10 rattles. We let him live.

He was so cold and lethargic that you would have had to stuck your hand in front of his face for him to bite you.
