What's the best product to clean the deck of your boat? (white)

I spent 4 hours yesterday scrubbing the deck w/ a bucket of water w/ bleach and boat deck cleaner (forget the brand, came w/ the boat)

What is the best wax to use after I clean it?

For fiberglass, I use 3M. Once or twice a year.

a custom or semi custom cover made out of Sunbrella is what I would recommend. I use Sharkskin right now, its cheaper but a good but heavier as well.

the 3M products are legit. That is what we used on the big expensive yachts.

It's the only thing that really works on our deck. Have had zero metal issues. But then again, there's not much down there to corrode.

depends on what you're trying to do. If it is just wax, then do by hand. If you are compounding, I'd use a power tool.

For tough stains mixing bleach and oxyclean works miracles. Makes the deck a little warm on your feet though as the reaction takes place...

Bleach doesnt harm gel coat or fiberglass, like I stated above, it will start corrosion on stainless and aluminum. Acetone, MEK, and other solvents will ruin the gel coat though. Bleach isnt really a cleaner though.

I've never waxed the deck of a boat before. Seems like it would be pretty tough with the non-slip surface

If you Teflon wax the boat deck you will bust your arse.

I am warning you, be very careful about what type of wax you put down.

I made the scrub counselor wax my motorboat after he kept smarting off (it was a maintenance day), he only used Teflon and I paid for it the rest of the summer.

Neauxla,

if you have the deck and floor clean, use woody wax. it is expensive but you use very little and it is easy to apply. follow directions on the bottle. Don't use regular wax on the deck unless you like being on your arse a lot.
