It looks like a website that at various points during the season you pay a certain amount of money depending on how well your team is doing and if they make the national championship you have access to national championship tickets at face value. The broker takes your money that you paid at a certain point and applies it to the face value price and you pay the rest after making the game. Like I did it for LSU and the price said it would be $130 down for two tickets. The catch was that if your team does't make the national championship game you do not get refunded the money you put down.

This is from the aricle I was reading about it.

quote:

Entrepreneurship being what it is, there’s another emerging method of buying tickets at face value. Teamtix operates “like the stock market,” Wahl said, enabling optimistic, gambling fans a chance to purchase tickets if their team reaches the title game. Notre Dame fans, for example, can pay $1,199 for the right to buy one ticket, with Alabama fans being charged $1,000 and George fans $372. The catch: If your team doesn’t make it, you don’t get a refund

Used it for tickets to LSU/Bama BCS Championship and used its forerunner (ticketreserve I think it was called) for LSU/OSU tickets.

I reserved four seats a couple of weeks ago. BTW, what you pay now does not get discounted off of the ticket price.

Ya I used them also for the past few years went the past two seasons. Its legit I grabbed mine early so the teamtix price was pretty inexpensive still. With LSU moving up the ranks the prices are just going to keep going up.

I reserved 4 already for LSU... It was 48 a ticket when I did and it's 65 now. Basically if LSU goes you get face value $325 tickets in the end zone... If they don't go, you are out whatever you put down.

Used it in 2007 and 2011...paid off both times and saved me thousands.

Have 6 LSU reserves this year.

It used to be handled by a company called FirstDibz, nowadays it is handled directly by the host bowl.

If LSU wins this weekend, I think prices climb to ~$100...oh, I've got my 6 already

It'd be better for me to guess a few teams who Bama would play than buying a Bama reserve.

Thinking of buying some Stanford ones for 45. They would be in high demand if they made it.
