The 2006 Auburn game still riles me up

The 2006 Auburn game still infuriates me. Still believe Auburn cheated in that game. The most blatantly biased officiating I've ever seen in a game. The 4th and 1 Hester catch that was reversed, David Irons molesting our WRs with the ref standing right there and ofcourse the Doucet PI that was reversed.

I hope we stomp them again. No mercy for the perennial cheaters.

You forgot the phantom holding call on our Canadian right guard, who was playing with a wrapped cast on one hand and couldn't hold if his life depended on it. Not to mention he barely touched his guy on that play.

Oh, and of course, it negated a big gain for a first down deep in Auburn territory. Great catch by our tight end.

Oh, and did I mention the fumble that LSU recovered that wasn't ruled a fumble?

That game was so full of Auburn bias by the refs, and I'm still so pissed about it, that it's like the game was played yesterday.

Thanks for tearing the scab off the old wound.

It was a horrible game plan. I agree the refs did a horrible job. But LSU had the ball inside Au's 50 like 5 times in the 1st half and came away with nothing. That's on Miles and the OC.IMO.

My father in law passed away unexpectedly and before his time just before kickoff. Awful day. I've never watched that game.

it was the most physical game I have ever watched. Didn't they miss an LSU touchdown right before halftime??

The first and only time I've ever seen the officials move and spot the ball for a penalty, the negate it and move it back

The sad thing is we probably still could have won that game if Jamarcus had half a brain

Yeah, that games still gets me as well.

I have no doubt that had we won that game we beat UF in the SECCG and then stomp OSU in the BCSCG.

We still got to embarrass ND, but I would have preferred another crystall football.

We should have won the '06 A game. Blame the refs all you want. It was LSU'S gameplan in the 1st half that could have scored at least two td's [without] refs doings.

So, how should they have schemed against Auburn defenders tackling our receivers while the ball was in the air, replay ref simply stealing a catch by Hester that would have given us a first down inside their 30, and when we did manage to make a big play in spite of all that, the refs chiming in with a phantom holding call to negate it?

You can't say "just make plays and the refs won't matter". We did make plays, and the refs flat-out stole them from us. How should Miles and Fisher have game-planned against that?

I was there for that game. The team could have executed better but the calls were so lopsided it was incredible. I also seem to recall they thought Dorsey was a weak spot to be exposed but they realized he was not blockable. Lets not forget the bs leaping penalty to give them a win in 2004. Or the Chaz cheap shot in 2007. Miles should take every opportunity to step on their throat. Auburn is the dirtiest program in the conference.

Yep. Our game plan had us inside their 30 and driving until "refs doings" just gave Auburn the ball by saying Hester didn't make the catch. Our game plan had us deep in their territory again and driving until "refs doings" dreamed up a holding penalty that never happened. Our game plan had us deep in their territory and driving again when they tackled our receiver in the end zone and "refs doings" let them get away with it and we had to settle for a FG instead of having first down inside their 15. So yes, without "refs doings", our game plan certainly could have scored, not just two but three touchdowns in the first half. Unfortunately, we didn't have the luxury of playing without "refs doings". In the first OR second half.

Every time we made a play the refs stepped in and took it away. Like clockwork.

Both 2004 and 2006 losses to Auburn fricked with me something fierce.

Both games kept LSU out of Atlanta. The seasons literally felt over for me after each one.
