Yes

It doesn't end abruptly though. There is a movie that wraps the story up nicely

yes, and it ends better than most shows that you will invest much longer in.

I've been putting this off for a while now but I think it's time to knock it out.

I just got finished with my second rewatch marathon of the season and movie (over 2 weeks)and I say it's absolutely worth it. Give it a chance if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed.

yeah, no abruptness at all

when i watched it i took my time and savored it

all

and don't forget to watch the extras, the cut scenes, spoofs and especially the documentary by the actors explaining things,

that's as good as the series

but only watch that after you end up by watching the movie

Yes and I am not one of the fanatics.

The show was decent enough, not great, but the movie was much better.

Easily yes. Really good/fun show.

Do it, man. Best thing about it is actually how short it is (TNWSS)...you can knock the entire series out really easily.

And the movie is definitely a solid finish to the series.

"Out of Gas" is a really, really great hour of television.

I'll second this. Just watched the series and movie a couple weeks ago for the 2nd time, and I'm rewatching Cowboy Bebop now. I recommend the same course of action, OP.

lolwut?

The movie wraps up the central storyline. Barring the continuation of the series, what more could you have asked for? Name another series that got canned where the creator basically made a movie to end his show with somewhat of a resolution?

i'm just pointing out the obvious that there is a lot that unresolved. he might have rapped up the season but not the story. and i am in no way blaming whedon nor am i trashing the movie or show. i loved both
